Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with various needs and abilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals in accordance with established protocols
- Follow all HIPAA guidelines to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of individuals' information
- Collaborate with social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Respond promptly to emergencies or crisis situations and take appropriate action
- Perform basic first aid as needed
Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with nursing home or healthcare settings is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is beneficial
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with empathy and compassion
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly in emergency situations
- Proficient in basic medical procedures such as medication administration and vital sign monitoring
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary
